David Haye Vs Wladimir Klitschko

The most anticipated heavyweight title fight in recent years occurs on July 2nd in Hamburg, Germany. David Haye takes on Wladimir Klitschko in what promises to be a boxing clash to be remembered. Haye has risen from the ranks to challenge a fighter that along with his brother Vitali, has dominated the heavyweight boxing scene since the retirement of Lennox Lewis in 2004.
The fight will be a contrast of two styles, Klitschko the tall Ukrainian has morphed his style over the years and tends to dominate his opponents with his jab, then launching a thundering big right hand. Haye is a much lighter and agile fighter around the ring, with a truly hammer like punch. Who can forget the way Haye nearly toppled the human gauntlet that is Valuev, the only boxer ever to come close to cutting down the giant Russian.
Haye amazingly is only making his 5th fight as a heavyweight after moving up from cruiserweight, yet he is still the heavyweight fighter whose name is on everybody's lips at the moment. For the first time in years the big American TV networks are covering a heavyweight title fight live outside the USA, as it has generated true world-wide interest, and some would say much needed in the heavyweight division.
Haye has a long standing plan to retire by the time his 31st birthday arrives on October 13th 2011. Should he defeat Vladimir there will be huge pressure to arrange a fight before then with his brother Vitali, any sort of injury though would put pay to this. Haye seems unfazed though, and was quoted as saying "I'll just have to accept that becoming the heavyweight champion was enough and move on with my life. I have set my goals and I have achieved them".
Thousands of British boxing fans are expected to make the journey over to Germany, in numbers not seen since Ricky Hatton's fight in Las Vegas with Mani Pacquiao, and with Klitschko having the backing of his adopted home town crowd, the atmosphere will be nothing short of electric.
Wladimir has claimed that Haye has been avoiding him and his brother since 2009, and has been vocal in criticising Haye, in particular for not "shaking the champs hand" at the recent promotional event for the fight in London. The clock is counting down, and the first week in July may truly see a heavyweight title fight that lives up to its billing.
